Facebook have a new security feature
which protects the users from getting attack by Malware on the social
networking website. Users can make use of the dubbed Malware Checkpoint to prevent Malware from spreading to website as well as removing it easily as well.
User can access two free anti-virus programs, McAfee and
Microsoft Security Essential while using the Facebook security features which
is a self-enrollment system. With this new checkpoint, it is harder for Malware to attack the Facebook user.
How Checkpoint system works?
If the Facebook user suspect that his/her computer is
being infected by Malware, he/she can use the Checkpoint system and it causes Facebook to lock their account temporary until users run either McAfee or Microsoft Essential to get their account unlocked.
This is how you use
the anti-virus products:
If you choose McAfee,
it will download a small program onto your computer and it will perform a
one-time scan of your system, checking for harmful threat. It won’t collapse or
interrupt your current security software such as AVG Avast!. McAfee provide you
with choice upon deleting harmful threat/file either by automatically or
manually after scanning.
If you choose Microsoft
Security Essentials, it provides a full anti-virus product for free. After
you download and install the software, the software will protect your computer
with the latest update to keep your computer safe.
This Malware checkpoint is the latest feature launched in
April 2012. The marketplace provides users with free half a year licenses to
full versions of security software such as Microsoft, Symantec, etc.
